Alaska Adventure 2023

Alaska, with its untamed beauty, called out to us, and man, it was a wild ride! Some of us couldn't help but jump the gun and landed in Alaska early, hungry for the breathtaking sights and crazy experiences waiting for us. As we share the highlights of our journey, join us in reliving the magic of our Alaskan escapade.

A 2.5-hour drive to Seward led us to a mesmerizing cruise, showcasing Alaska's wildlife and stunning scenery. The images captured on this voyage promise to be nothing short of extraordinary.

Venturing towards Denali National Park, we paused in the colorful town of Talkeetna. The rare sight of Mt. Denali from the town's vantage point set the stage for our transit into the park. A wildlife-rich bus ride offered a glimpse into the park's hidden corners, emphasizing the need for a prolonged visit to truly appreciate its wonders.

The third day took us to Fairbanks, where the Morris Thompson Visitor Center revealed the rich tapestry of Alaskan culture and history. Our exploration continued through downtown, with unexpected encounters at Soapy Smith's Pioneer Restaurant and a refreshing dip into Chena Hot Springs, making it a day filled with discovery.

Day four led us to the whimsical Santa Claus House in North Pole, a place where Christmas is a year-round celebration. Our journey south, though a bit longer, treated us to breathtaking views on the scenic route through Palmer. Every extra minute was justified by the enchanting landscapes encountered along the way.

The fifth day marked a thrilling adventure as we hiked the Matanuska Glacier with a guided tour. Drinking fresh glacier water and using glacier clay masks, our group embraced the unexpected, creating unforgetable memories.

Our Alaskan adventure reached its pinnacle on the last day. A picturesque hike led us to a mesmerizing waterfall, and a return to Beluga Point allowed us to soak in the ocean's breathtaking views. As we bid farewell and indulged in city delights, our hearts swelled with gratitude for an unforgettable journey.

As we wrap up our incredible Alaskan adventure, we express gratitude for the friendships forged and memories made. Stay tuned for future updates, as we eagerly anticipate the day when we can return to the wild embrace of Alaska next summer. Until then, the echoes of our Assyrian adventure in the Last Frontier linger, inviting you to join us on our next chapter of discovery.
